Last month we took our Butlins Ambassador Holiday to Butlins Bognor Regis where we stayed at the Shoreline Hotel. It was the first time for us in that hotel last year we stayed in the Wave and previous to that I had stayed in the Ocean hotel.
We arrived on site at 12pm as we knew that we could use all the facilities even though we couldn’t check in until 3pm. As we walked past the Shoreline we saw Billy Bear inside and BG just had to meet him.
We saw a few people at the desk checking in so we thought we’d try our luck and our room was ready for us. So we checked in, booked our table for dinner that night and even booked our Character Breakfast for the next day.
The show line ups were a little different this year as some were taking place in the Character Theatre which you need tickets for (free). So before we went exploring we went and books our tickets for the week. I would recommend everyone doing this as soon as they can before they all go. We then hit the fairground which BG was looking forward to the most.
We had dinner that night in the Southcoast Restaurant which is in the Shoreline hotel. It’s a hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice and a children’s station of their own.
There is so much to do at Butlins and this post would be far too long if I wrote about every single day in full so here are out highlights.
What We Did and Saw At Butlins Bognor Regis:
- Billy and Bonny Bear Story Times
- Fireman Sam Show
- Angelina Ballerina Show
- Mike the Night Show
- I Can Cook with Katie (you can only get tickets on the morning of the show)
- Soft Play
- Indoor Funfair
- Puppet Show
- Jack and the Beanstalk Panto
- Outdoor Fairground
- Face painting
- Character Breakfast
- Dino hunt at the Shoreline
- Played in the Billy Bear park
- Played on the 2p machines
- Spa treatments for Mummy’s birthday!
We had the hotel dinning plan but you don’t have to stick to the same restaurants. If you tell them the day before where you want to eat they will give you a pass to use there.
Where We Ate:
- South Coast Restaurant
- The Deck
- Papa John’s Pizza
- The Kaleidoscope Restaurant (Lunch)
- Rosso Lounge (for Coffee)
- The Skyline Café )for lunch and snacks)
There is a really large variety of food to choose from even for the fussiest of eaters. In several of the restaurant’s they cook a selection of foods fresh to your liking. We had pasta in the South Coast Restaurant and burgers at The Deck.
They also have ice-cream machines which both the children and adults love!
The Shoreline Hotel
The Shoreline is aimed at families with younger children which was perfect for us. It is the home of Billy Bear which made BG very happy. They run story time each night and have a selection of activities throughout the day. BG took part in the Dino hunt and they all got a prize at the end. There is also a park right next to it with sand and plenty of things to do.
We stayed in a Nelson Stateroom and it was really, really nice. Plenty big enough for the 4 of us. BG had her room which meant we didn’t have to tip toe around all night when she was asleep.
I was meant to do a video the first day and got caught up with the excitement of being on holiday so I shot this tour of our room while OH and BG was packing the car.
We had a really great holiday and BG keeps asking when we can go back. There is still so much we didn’t get to do but that’s the beauty of Butlins you will never get bored. We had some rainy days but it doesn’t matter as most things are indoors.
I would highly recommend Butlins as a family holiday destination. My sister wants to come with us next time!
Come back tomorrow for my Top Tips.
We received a free holiday with the hotel dinning plan included. All opinions are my own.
