We were invited to watch Rio 2 in London on Mother’s Day and as I am such a great mummy *ahem* I said yes and took BG along. BG is honestly a big Rio fan we have seen the film at least 60 times and she has been known to watch 3 times in one day!
To prepare for Rio 2 we had to of course watch Rio the night before so we were pumped to see the new film.
The entire cast of the animated smash RIO returns in RIO 2, and they are joined by a new flock of top actors and musical talents. Rich with grandeur, character, color and music, RIO 2 finds Jewel (Anne Hathaway), Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) and their three kids leaving their domesticated life in that magical city for a journey to the Amazon. They encounter a menagerie of characters who are born to be wild, voiced by Oscar nominee Andy Garcia, Oscar/Emmy/Tony-winner Rita Moreno, Grammy winner Bruno Mars, and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth.
Firstly I absolutely love the music in both films I challenge you to sit and watch either and not find yourself dancing in your seat. Thankfully BG is not easily embarrassed by her mum!
It’s a really entertaining film. Parts really made me laugh out loud and BG thought it was fantastic. My dad who hasn’t seen the first one joined us and he really enjoyed it and didn’t feel lost at all.
There are some great new characters as well as old favourites. Gabi the frog is my particular favourite.
If you are looking for a film to watch this Easter holidays then you can’t go wrong with Rio 2. It’s fun for the entire family, yes even for you!
Don’t believe me, just watch this trailer.
