One of the bonuses of being a Miffy Mum is getting sent amazing items to test out and try. This month Little Miss has been sent a Miffy Plays Dinnerware Set and she was over the moon the Miffy sent it just for her. It’s the first set Little Miss has had that wasn’t her sisters!
The set consists of a dinner plate, a bowl, a cup and children’s glass. It is decorated with the Miffy Plays print which is cute and nice and colourful. The first thing I noticed was how large the dinner plate is, normally they are pretty tiny which is great for a baby or toddler but as they get older they often want a bit more food or at least keep certain foods separate (we all know the struggle).
The pieces are all really thick which is very reassuring as my child likes to drop/throw things and many melamine and plastic items have cracked and even splintered but these are good and sturdy.
In the past few weeks these have been used almost every day and have been through the dishwasher many times and they still look good as new. No fading or scratching even around the edges.
Little Miss adores this set and requests it for most meals. It is a firm favourite already.
The Miffy Plays Dinnerware Set £20would make a great Christmas gift. You can also get the set in a Miffy Travels print which is super cute as well. If you are looking for gifts for older children they have some lovely enamel mugs or bone china for the adults (you know you want one).

Every time Little Miss sees a Lalaloopsy on TV she begs for one of her own as BG owns a few. When we were offered the chance to test of the Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise how I could say no.
Now it is a little on the quirky side, you basically feed Jewel Sparkles her food and she poops shapes for you. I know a lot of parents would be horrified but it’s actually a lot of fun.
The ‘food’ is a bit like magic sand so it moulds together really well, makes little mess and doesn’t dry out (Little Miss has had the pot open for two weeks and it’s still going strong. You feed the doll one spoonful and then twist her belly button, you then press a release button and the jewel pops into the potty.
You can make 4 different shapes and it comes with three different coloured foods. You also get a bowl and a potty. She comes with pants and a dummy.
Little Miss plays with her several times a day, she comes for breakfast and dinner with us.
The shapes are not always perfect; I find if you twist the belly button twice you get a better shape but to be fair Little Miss doesn’t really care.
She has been a big hit in our house and even BG wants to get in on the action.
Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise doll is priced at £29.99 and suitable for ages 4 and up
There are two other new dolls in the Autumn/Winter range the Princess Style N Swap range and Glitter Hair Dough Doll. Keep your eye out for them!
Available from all good toy retailers.
Its not long until the little darlings are back at school (yay!) and that means back to school shopping (boo). Lets face it that can be painful and expensive, current research showed on average we spend £186.24 per child!!
That is a lot of money!! Thankfully Poundland have an excellent range of back to items that are not only great but oh so affordable. Whether your child is starting pre-school, primary, secondary or college Poundland have you covered.
They sent us a small selection of items to try out.
BG nabbed the highlighters and notepad and Little Miss got the Finding Dory colouring pencils and I may have hidden the metallic paint *ahem*.
They spent a happy half an hour playing with it and BG has put hers away ready for the start of term. The colouring tube of pencils is in my bag ready for when I am out with Little Miss to keep her entertained and is super handy.
Poundland actually have a huge selection of back to school goodies including some awesome Neon stationery (which would look great on my desk) , super cute weekly planners and the lovely Secret Life of Pet pens.
Don’t have a Poundland near you? Don’t worry you can now buy online, you don’t even have to face the shops.
I’d get in quick before it all sells out.
If I were to make a list of my top ten products for anybody due a baby, SnoozeShade would definitely be high up on that list. I was lucky enough to be sent one for the car seat when I had my first baby, 5 years ago. It went everywhere with me and was fab in the heat, out in the sun, protection when it is windy and also to help keep my baby asleep that little bit longer when having a nap out and about. I loved it that much that it got put up when my baby grew out of his car seat and I moved onto the larger version which attached to the push chair – again completely invaluable when out and about – no more pegging a muslin square over the front of the pram.
So its so surprise when Baby number 2 came along, the first thing I did was search out my beloved car seat SnoozeShade – even though it was December. I knew that it wouldn’t be long and I would be using it. In face early on I went to breakfast with my sister and family and along came baby in its car seat covered in the beautiful SnoozeShade.
The most amazing thing then happened; SnoozeShade sent me the new all singing and dancing car seat SnoozeShade. Now this, along with the original pushchair SnoozeShade goes absolutely everywhere with me. My baby loves it, as soon as it goes on the car seat/ pram baby is sound asleep and completely protected from the elements (apart from the rain). I can’t sing its praises enough or highly recommend it.
You can buy them from www.snoozeshade.com
There is a range of shades for car seats, prams, cots and travel cots. The shades range from £19.99- £69.99.
I had breast fed baby number 1 so I always knew I was going to breast feed baby number 2. The biggest issue once having a baby is what to wear over your post baby body, for me it’s always about being breast feeding accessible. To me this means a stretchy vest that pulls down with some sort of top or cover over the top. This doesn’t give you much scope when trying to wear any form of jewellery. Especially as there’s always a little hand around your neck destined to pull at whatever is there.
Well that was until I was sent a beautiful necklace called Bubble Citron from Lala Beads. This necklace is really funky, a great colour and is a teething necklace.
So it’s designed with little hands (and gums) in mind as well as hitting fashion trends. It’s made form 100% Food Grade Silicon, the same material used for teething toys and is easily cleaned with soap and water and can also go in the dishwasher. The best part is it is completely durable and looks fab when being worn just over a t-shirt or jumper. I love wearing this necklace, and my daughter loves playing with it too whilst feeding. My daughter is now coming up 6 months and is starting to teeth so is putting absolutely anything she can find in her mouth, she absolutely loves chewing on the necklace and I can look good at the same time.
The necklaces can be found at www.lalabeeds.com. There are 3 different designs of necklaces; bubble, pearl and spice. All come in a cool funky colour and all priced at £15 – which is such a great price for a great piece of jewellery.

We do love a bit of Miffy here at the Parent Panel, in fact they sent us a lovely gift when Little Miss was born and BG loves their ipad app. So of course when they asked me to be a Miffy Mum well I couldn’t say no!
To start with we were sent a lovely gift box to help celebrate Miffy’s 60th birthday. Yes Miffy is 60!!
The birthday book is just gorgeous. The fridge magnet looks lovely on our fridge and me and the girls are fighting over the postcards! I have given the tea towel to OH 😉
We had a little part for Miffy and decorated with balloons and the bunting and me and BG decorated cakes.
We can’t wait to see what arrives next and what being a Miffy Mum will bring.
