Review: LighterLife 5:2 FAST

I was asked if I would like to give the Lighterlife 5:2 FAST packs a try and as I really need to lose some weight and I thought I would give them a try.

I know a few people that have tried the 5:2 diet and it has worked for them. I like the idea of having all the calories worked out for you as basically I am lazy. You have 4 packs a day and that’s your calorie intake sorted. They also make sure you have the right amount of nutrition for the day.

The packs include shakes (vanilla, strawberry, banana, chocolate), breakfast favourite porridge, wholesome meals including vegetable soup, spaghetti Bolognese and pasta carbonara and four scrumptious bars in nut fudge, peanut crunch, cranberry and raspberry and toffee flavours.

Discover our range

The food is pretty good considering most of its dried and you add water to it. The shakes are really nice and the soup is really creamy. I found the bars left a funny after taste but I am a fussy git.

So I have the food and it’s nice, all the calories are counted for me so you’d think it would be easy and I would lose weight.  Wrong it turns out you also need will power not to stuff your face when you get hungry!

I would do really well all day and then it would get to tea time and I would just fall apart. I thought only have to diet for two days a week would be easier but I’m just a greedy pig.

If you have willpower and the drive to lose weight and are looking at trying the 5:2 diet then these are great to have as you don’t have to think it about. Perfect for a busy mum!

Review Ozeri Touch Digital Bathroom Scale

I was sent a set of the Ozeri Touch Digital Bathroom Scales to test out and review. These are all singing and dancing scales!

Ozeri Touch Digital Bathroom Scale Features:

  • New StepOn Technology automatically powers on upon contact to display weight measurements and automatically powers off to converse battery power. No tapping needed to activate the scale.
  • Uses advanced algorithms to calculate Body Fat, Hydration Levels, Muscle Mass and Bone Index measurements within seconds of stepping onto the scale.
  • Features 3 Touch Sensitive Buttons for easy operation and 4 icons that automatically illuminate for Body Fat, Hydration, Muscle and Bone measurements.
  • Utilizes 4 high precision G sensors to weigh up to 440 pounds (200 kilograms) in 0.2lb or 0.1kg increments.
  • Elegant reflective off-white surface is made of high quality impact-resistant tempered glass, which is 4 times stronger than normal glass.
  • 3 Touch Sensitive Buttons for easy operation, and 4 icons that automatically illuminate on the screen for Body Fat, Hydration, Muscle and Bone measurements.
  • Includes built-in memory for up to 8 user profiles. Each profile stores weight, gender, height, and age data so that your family members can each track their progress.
  • Combines advanced algorithms with bioelectrical impedance analysis (BI), incorporating a person’s age, height, gender and weight to accurately calculate advanced measurements.

They are super simple to use just step on and the scales switch themselves on. You can set up profiles and it’s really easy to do. The buttons are extra sensitive so you just lightly touch them with your toes and respond quickly.

I liked how you could not only see how much you weighed but could see what my body fat, hydration, muscle and bone measurements were.  I realised I really needed to drink more water as well as lose body fat.

The scale is rather snazzy looking and looks nice in my bathroom.

Having a good set of scales has helped with weight loss and helped me set some targets in relation to body fat and hydration.

The Ozeri Touch Digital Bathroom Scale are available from Amazon for £32.95

#Review Weight-Away: Weeks 9 & 10

*hangs head in shame* I have been a very naught girl, I basically went off plan last week. At the end of the week before I was poorly so I had a few days where I didn’t eat much and then a day or two were I ate what I fancied. I weighed myself and I had stayed the same which I was pleased with.

We went away this weekend and what I should have done is stuck with Weight-Away until we went away but I didn’t. I treated the whole week as a holiday and I have paid the price.

I weighed myself this morning and I am….

16 stone

Which means I have put on 5lbs which is terrible all that hard work down the pan. So I am back with a vengeance. I have decided to the the 5:2 plan which means for two days of the week I fast and only have 500 calories. Weight-Away is perfect for this because of the calorie controlled meals I can have 3 meals and still be under 500 calories. Today is the best day for me to have my first fast day as I have had a filling this so I am all numb and can’t eats much!

Fingers crossed this works for me.

Has anyone else done the 5:2 diet? Any tips?

#Review Weight-Away Diet: Weeks 7 & 8

I know, I know! It’s been two weeks since my last post things are getting busy this end now school is out for the summer. I have been pretty good and stuck to the Weight- Away diet for the most part; a few extra squares of chocolate may have slipped past my lips.

I can really see a huge difference in my stomach now which makes me really happy and the trousers I am currently wearing now swamp me (good excuse for new clothes).

The summer holidays are now upon us which means days out for us. I am planning to do picnics when we can so I can pack my own food and stay on track. Being out also means more exercise so I am hoping that will counter balance any ice cream calories I might consume J

If you have any low calorie meals or snacks let me know.

Ok for the big weigh in, I did weigh myself both weeks I just forgot to blog last week.

I now weigh…….

15 Stone 9lbs!

That’s a 2lbs loss over the last two weeks and 1 stone 3lbs overall. I am more than happy with that, a 1lb a week is what I am aiming for.

1lb is a bag of sugar which when you hold one is quite a lot.

Bring on next week!

#Review – Weight-Away Diet: Week 6

Sorry this is late; it’s been one of those weeks.  I can’t believe I have done 6 weeks on the Weight-Away diet already!

The food is still really yummy but the heat is getting to me and I am going off soup for lunch. I am eating lots of fruit and salad to help me along. I may have to freeze some grapes this week!

Ok are ready for it? Drum roll………..

I now weigh

15stone 11lbs

That’s another 1lb off and 1stone 1lb off in total. I do feel better for it, I walk a little bit faster and my trousers are falling down!

Here’s hoping it’s another loss this week.

#Review – Weight-Away Diet: Week 5

This week has been a tough one. The hot weather has made me lazy and I have struggled with soup for lunch. We had a family treat night in Thursday and as usual I went too far and ate too much.

I tried to mix it up again this week and started having fat free yogurt with my granola and muesli’s which is really yummy, it’s been a bit hot for porridge.

I shall be having lots of salads with my dinners this week!

Even though I have been a bit naughty this week I have had a loss. I now weigh….

15st 12lbs

That’s a 1lb loss and 1 stone loss overall so I am happy with that. Going to try and stay on the plan this week.

I took this picture of me today and I now have a smaller waist and no longer look 6 months pregnant in this dress.

Me Week 5

People have noticed I have lost weight so that makes me happy and motivated to keep going.

Let’s hope I have a good loss this week.
